I'm back! Baby Jogger City Select VS. Kolcraft Contours Options *mini photo review!*

Ok, if your like me...you love to shop around for a good deal!!! My husband wants to go for baby number 5..but I told him that 1st I need a good double stroller! (he dosnt know about the doubles kit to my phil and teds..so dont tell him ;)- review coming soon! ) So off we went to go check out the baby jogger city mini double...I didnt even bother with pics because its too wide..but i can go back and review that one later!

I have been lusting after my BFF's BJCS (baby jogger city select) since she got it a while back..so of course i showed it to my husband..he saw the price tag and directed me to the Kolcraft Contours Options Double..He told me to buy it on the spot...haha! We put our 4.5 year old boy & 14month old girl in it to feel it out. (that will probably be the spacing if we have another..planning WAY ahead!) and my 36lb tiny son was not happy so would not let me take pics, but his feet were to the bottom of the storage basket and his head was way above the back of the seat, but the canopy still closed. so it would be ok if i never thought he would relax/sleep and I didnt have items under him in the basket. my 14 month old is 19lbs and her head was even with the back of the seat, and her feet were to the foot rest.

The push on the kolcraft was actually good on the smooth show room floor, with my kids in it. I tried it with baby farthest away as recommended. I played around and found the seats VERY easy to arrange to my liking. I could do them with out looking and turn them around and switch them! The canopies seemed adequate as well! I saw the original version not the II version. the seats were not as deep as i would like but they would be good up to 2 years old max i would think before you would be needing a new stroller. If your having twins (you would need to buy a second car seat adapter..it comes with one!) it would be a good option. it is a 3 piece fold but I am used to that from my Icandy pear that I just sold. Also the fold was easy. It will take up most of your cargo space if you have a van..and it might not fit in the smaller cargo areas of a honda pilot if you have the third row up.

BJCS!!
the seats on this are also pretty easy to rearrange! but at least for me I needed to actually be looking to line the seat up to the chassis. I also couldn't get the seats back to back..but after I got in the car I realized I forgot to put the upper seat on the higher up spot to click the seat on..oops! My kids both fit just fine in the seats, and the push was fine on the showroom floor with my two kids in the seats. It is a bummer that this stroller does not even come with a rain cover :( I really wish it came with the bumper bars for the cost, but it comes with nothing :(
There is also no parent area on the handle push bar, and that is also a bummer but most higher end strollers do not. So I have a small stash of them to move around where needed haha.

If you are looking to only need one stroller, and want the option to have a single, and a double where your kids can face each other, away from each other, and standard tandem the baby jogger city select is your stroller. I have heard some people complain about it being hard to push when your kids get larger, but I have no complaints on steering or pushing w/my two, and my friend loves hers and I have pushed it on occasion with her kiddos and it was fine :)

If your having twins and want something for two carseats and plan to buy a new stroller once they are toddlers anyway, the kolcraft is a great option! I just wouldnt get it for kids that are going to have a gap in ages :)

BJCS: since it can be a standard full size single the wheels are closer together so not as long as the kolcraft. and the wheels are larger on the baby jogger :)

I did end up going with the baby jogger since I have no idea if (Lord willing) or when i will pop out another baby ;) So the baby jogger city select will be great for my current stroller riders! I will do a more in depth review of this stroller...I bought the Single version in Amethyst and the second seat in Onyx from the 2010 version so I will compare!
